Tagwright Open a Tag Book

Campaign link workshop

Every link you share, tagged the same way.

Tagwright builds the utm_ tags that tell your analytics where a visit came from, checks links other people made, and keeps your team's spelling rules and every tagged link in one private Tag Book.

  • One house style: Facebook, facebook and FB stop being three sources.
  • See the GA4 channel a link lands in before you send it.
  • No sign-up, no email, no tracking cookies. Free to use; Pro is $1.95/month.

Link Builder

Anatomy of a tagged link

Five small labels, one honest report.

https://shop.example.com/boots?color=tan&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=fall-sale-2026&utm_content=header-button#sizes
  1. Source where the click happens: newsletter, facebook, a partner's name.
  2. Medium the kind of traffic: email, social, cpc.
  3. Campaign the push it belongs to: fall-sale-2026.
  4. Content which button, image or ad, when one email has several links.
  5. Term the paid keyword, for search ads.

The page's own color=tan stays, and #sizes stays at the end where browsers need it. Tagwright did that; many hand-made links do not.

Three benches, one workshop.

01

Build

Destination plus source, medium and campaign. Tagwright lowercases, swaps spaces for your separator, keeps the page's own parameters, replaces stale tags and refuses anything that looks like an email address or phone number.

02

Check

Paste a link from a colleague, an agency or last year's flyer. Tagwright finds doubled tags, empty tags, capital letters, spaces and tags hiding after the #, where analytics never sees them.

03

Keep

A Tag Book is your team's rulebook (allowed sources and mediums, campaign prefix, case and separator) and a ledger of every link built in it, with a drift check, CSV export and a printable campaign sheet.

Know where the visit will be counted.

Google Analytics 4 sorts tagged visits into default channels by rules Google publishes. Tagwright runs those rules, in Google's order, on every link it builds or checks. These rows are computed by the same code:

Free to tag. $1.95 a month to keep the whole team in step.

The Link Builder and Link Checker are free with no limit. Tagwright Pro grows a Tag Book from 25 links to 2,000 and adds Bulk Check, bulk build, CSV export and the printable campaign sheet.

Questions people ask

Do I need an account?

No. The Builder and Checker need nothing. A Tag Book is a private link: whoever has the link can use the book, so share it only with your team. There is no email and no password to forget, and a lost link cannot be recovered.

Does Tagwright visit my website?

No. It only reads the text you type or paste. It never fetches your pages, never shortens links and never redirects your visitors: the links it makes go straight to your site.

Is this made by Google?

No. Tagwright is independent. It follows the default channel rules Google publishes for Google Analytics 4 and says so where it uses them.

Why lowercase?

Reports treat Facebook and facebook as two different sources. One house style keeps one row per source.
